ArcelorMittal supplies high‑quality drawn wire for fastener makers, fabricators and manufacturers that serve the automotive, construction and industrial markets.

Wire rod, manufactured in our wire rod mill using billets from our steelworks, will have a new look once processed in one of our wire mills. Then, through a cold drawing process, the wire is reduced in size.

It is then ready to receive a value-added element such as galvanizing, winding, oil tempering or annealing. The drawn wire can then be used for telecommunications, residential construction and automotive markets.

Among the most competitive segments in the steel industry, drawn wire requires special expertise. Our teams are constantly adapting to changes in required categories, sizes and packaging, and are recognized for outstanding quality and excellent customer service.

We also supply SBQ to cold finishers who supply multiple industrial sectors, acting as service centers to meet their clients’ diverse requirements:

  • Automotive, including heavy- and light-duty truck applications (yokes, rings, forged parts going into drive shafts, axles)

  • The energy sector (valves, pipes and fittings, hydraulic shafts)

  • Agriculture (parts for loaders, farm equipment, land diggers)

  • Industrial sector (hooks)

  • Transportation

  • Other industries

We supply more than 80 different grades and approximately 50 different sections. Quality and logistics are the foundations of our continued success in this segment, along with our capacity to quickly adapt our operations and capabilities to meet specific market demands.
