Electrical Steels

ArcelorMittal is a leader in the production of advanced electrical steels. Our North American footprint is expanding with a world-class NOES facility under construction in Calvert, Alabama.
Designed to support growing demand for electrification, the facility will produce up to 150,000 metric tons of non-oriented electrical steel (NOES) annually. These high-performance steels are essential for automotive and mobility applications, renewable electricity generation, and a wide range of industrial and commercial uses—including electric motors, generators, and specialized applications.
Co-located at the existing ArcelorMittal Calvert site, the NOES facility will further strengthen domestic and North American supply chains. The project reflects ArcelorMittal’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and accelerating electrification across key sectors, with production slated to commence in 2H 2027.
