Keith Howell

Keith Howell currently serves as Chief Operating Officer for ArcelorMittal North America, reporting to John Brett.

Keith has 36 years of steel making experience, having started his career at US Steel, with assignments in quality assurance and steelmaking departments, and later as area manager in casting and shipping. Prior to joining ArcelorMittal in 2016, Keith worked at AK Steel, which he had joined in 1997 as manager of steelmaking. He subsequently served as manager of their aluminized and cold strip departments. He advanced to General Manager and in 2009 he was promoted to director of engineering and raw materials. In 2010, he was named Vice President of carbon steel operations, and then Vice President of operations in 2012. He was appointed to Senior Vice President of operations in May 2015. In his most recent role, since January 2016, Keith was chief operating officer ArcelorMittal USA. He currently also serves as an Executive Director of the Association for Iron and Steel Technology (AIST).

Keith holds a Bachelor of Science in metallurgical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, USA and an MBA from the Ohio State University, USA.
